Welcome to the 1882 Sheep Creek Post Office
Now 52 North Railway Street, Okotoks
The Okotoks Post Office, originally the Sheep Creek Post Office, was
built in 1882 and was located east of town near McMillan’s stopping place.
It was moved in 1887 to its present location across from the train station
and it continued to serve as a post office until 1942.
It was vacant for a number of years before being renovated into a restaurant.
Many of the original features have been preserved.
Notably are the pressed tin siding designed to look like stone
and the unusual angle of the building , it is not square to the street. You may
also notice the spectacular details on the corners and the cornice molding.
